Fun for all ages! Family programs are designed for children and their parents to investigate the wonderful world of science together.

Family Invertebrate Fossil Field Trip

The Sam Noble Museum invites families to join invertebrate paleontology curator Dr. Steve Westrop for an exciting journey into Oklahoma’s Paleozoic past. Explore life in Oklahoma’s ancient oceans on Friday evening with a close-up look at some of the museum’s finest invertebrate specimens. On Saturday morning, we will depart from the museum at 9 a.m. and travel in university vans to the site where you will find a variety of marine fossils that you can take home. Bring a sack lunch, snacks, comfortable shoes and plenty of water. This field trip is for children 7 and up with an adult.

Friday, April 25 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 26 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Advance registration is required and space is limited. On-site registration is not available for this program.
Cost: Members $90 (includes one child and one adult)/ $45 for each additional person; Non-members $110 (includes one child and one adult)/ $55 for each additional person.

Frog Talk

June 12 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Come discover the language of frogs with your family! We’ll start our evening off at the museum learning about frogs calls, habitats and identification. Then we’ll caravan to a local park to experience the night life of Oklahoma frogs.

A Night With Bats

June 27 7:30 to 10 p.m.
Are bats really blind? Why do they hang upside-down? How many kinds of bats live in Oklahoma? Come find out the answers to these questions and more as we discover bat facts and caravan to a local park to see and hear bats!

A Night at the Museum

Have you ever wondered what happens in the museum when the doors are locked and the lights go down? Explore and play in the museum with your family in a new way…you just may see something you’ve never seen before!
